Fully triangulated tubular space frame chassis expertly MIG & TIG welded weighing slightly over 300 pounds with .120 wall DOM tubing.
Carbon Monocoque (Spyder)
A carbon monocoque is bonded to the frame, reducing NVH and adding substantial rigidity to the space frame with little added weight.
Creature Comforts
Heating, air conditioning, power steering, anti-lock braking, and a smart stereo are installed standard on all Carbon40s.

The kit car based on an original 1966 Ford® GT40 MK2
Our mission has been to preserve the original aesthetics of the LeMans winning MKII GT40 while creating a more modern, competitive chassis as compared to todays standards. In the GT40 kit car world there has been many replicas, most of which whom had significant design concessions or lost features from decades of repurposed molds.
The Insanity Lab Racing Carbon40™ is modeled directly off of an original 1966 MK2 GT40 resulting in the highest quality replica from a visual appearance. When combined with modern engineering and material design practices, we hope to redefine the potential of the most nostalgic race car that the United States of America has ever produced.
Thousands of hours in fitment and sanding have went into restoring the classic bodyline.
MK1 design is tentatively available in early 2022.
